On their bikes for racing day | This is South Wales

On their bikes for racing day | This is South Wales: "PENDINE Sands in Carmarthenshire has been echoing to the sound of motorcycles racing for the first time in more than 40 years over the weekend.

Motocross beach racing, organised by the Dredgers — Laugharne Motocross Club, took place on the sands on Saturday."

Cross Inn-based Anthony Roberts of the Dredgers — Laugharne Motocross Club said: "There were small jumps in there, it was like a motocross event.
"It's just to see how it goes, the last time they were racing was over 40 years ago; I took part in that myself.
"I'm actually in my sixth decade of racing, and I'm a Pendine boy, living in Laugharne."
He said previous plans to bring bike racing back to the sands had proved difficult to arrange as he was unable to get permission from the Ministry of Defence.
But after discovering the community council had taken over part of the beach, the sand racing was able to take place there.
