Vital funds for children | This is South Wales: "MORE than £800 was raised for a children's charity at a recent event in Pendine.
The carol singing event in aid of the NSPCC was organised by a local team from Pendine.
Adults and children had sung around the Christmas tree next to the Beach Hotel, braving the cold after an opening prayer read by the Reverend Keith Littler.
Funds were boosted by a donation made by Llanboidy councillor Roy Llewellyn, which he and his wife raised at their anniversary party.
Other funds were collected at the Spring Well Inn and The Beach Hotel, as well as the carol singers.
A further £100 was raised at a New Year's Eve party at the Pendine and Llanmiloe community hall, bringing the total raised for the NSPCC to £870."
