This is South Wales | Set for speed bid: "SPEED record attempts at Pendine are expected to go ahead next weekend.
The Bluebird Electric team will attempt to break the UK Land Speed Record on Pendine Sands on the weekend of August 13 and 14.
Last month the attempt was aborted when a vital component was not delivered in time.
The car is to be driven by Don Wales, grandson of Sir Malcolm Campbell.
Mr Wales set the current UK record for electric cars at 137mph."
